Have you lost your internet browsing data or some favourite photos of yours? Let’s fix that. Whether it’s just some random file, or something else significant, there’s always a way to get to them, but the most important thing is not to panic. So let’s start with something easy.
Not All Cookies are Lost
An excellent method to access internet history is with internet cookies. An internet cookie is a small text file stored in an internet browser. Cookies will keep information about sites that you visited. Unfortunately, many people have the wrong premises about them and think of them as spying tools. Still, they only remember your account and browsing history like the blogs you were reading, social media that you used, or login data from your favourite Canadian casino online website. All of this makes it easier for you when you revisit websites.
System Restore
The most effortless method is a system restore. It will recover any internet history removed not so long ago and get the system fixed and worked, so you can try to find system restore and take you to the feature. Another way to do that is to click on “Program” and the “Accessories.”
You will have two options, “System Restore” and “System Tools.” Then you should choose a date for what you want to restore and wait for the process to finish. After that, it will reboot itself, and then you can look at your browser’s internet history and any other files you may have lost.
Desktop Search Programs
If you have a used PC, especially a PC that was a corporate one, system restore options may be disabled. For this particular occasion, you should use PC’s search programs. For the best program, you should do some testing and find one that fits your case. One that will the most results back. The best way of doing that is, for example, if you know keywords that meet your needs regarding your search, you could try to type that out and get them back that way.
Log Files Could Help You
Log files are our last method, and it’s perfect for deleted files from many months ago. However, you should be careful with this method. Even though it is a simple step-by-step process, you could get a message that your history is in danger of being deleted permanently.
All Windows PCs have Index.dat. This document has a special file extension that will save your random data, and it’s hidden on the computer. For example, it carries every website that you ever visited, all URLs and web pages. An important task before this process is setting Windows to reveal hidden files and folders. You can do that in “Settings”> “Control Panel”> “Folder Options”.
In “Folder Options,” go to the “View” tab and then on “Advanced settings,” which go on “Show hidden files and folders.” Next, you should uncheck “Hide Protected Operating System files.” When you finish this method, make sure that you get these options back like they were before this method.
